Lovely fluffy flowering texture in summer providing great fill and a soft contrast. A great grass all round and in early stages grows much like 'Karl Forester' until flowering time, when it looks very different; responds best in heavier fertile soils, and to date doesnt seed here.
White flowered form of E.comosa, strappy foliage and summer flowering, showy plant, winter deciduous, large bulbs.
Lowest growing of all the miscanthus, at around knee high, a very versatile and useful foreground filler that wont seed, and looks great with sedums, echinacea, salvia and rudbeckia. Winter foliage has pretty rusty pink tones. Give it nice soil, being a smaller one its fast growing as the big ones.
A good plant for medium to heavy soils, flowering in summer with sedums, echinacea, rudbeckia and heleniums; fills nicely in the perennial border and amongst ornamental grasses
A very late flowering variety with tall wiry stems and in its early stages an interesting tight flower bud, providing a similar effect to craspedia globosa. Attractive low basal foliage, and a sculptural interesting plant for late summer groupings.
Strong growing upright variety, taller than 'Goldsturm' with strong upright stems that will hold upright between mounding grasses and lower perennials.
One of our favourite late season rudbeckias, a tall late summer flowering variety with lemon yellow green centred flowers on strong rigid stems, ideally suited to heavier soil types.
Terrific new variety from our own breeding, lower growing than most other varieties at around knee high, but larger than usual flowers in a good rich plummy colour. Good foliage too, likes moist rich soil.
Terrific tall variety, white flowering. Basal foliage produces dozens of 2m flower spikes, superb summer flowering background, plant in heavier fertile soil, shorter in less ideal conditions.
Terrific long flowering agastache, distinct from Blue Boa with narrower conical flowers and more blue in colour. Prefers open drainage and good soil, as per other agastache.
Waist high aster with large dark green leaves and late season blue/mauve daisies, a strong plant and easy amongst grasses or other perennials.
A brilliant new cultivar with deep purple flowers. Easily cultivated in fertile moist soil, tall graceful stems.
Early summer flowering resembling a blue aster, but flowering for much longer period and all round more contained and well behaved. Likes fertile drained soil
Pretty variety that begins soft yellow then fades as the flowers age. Prolific flowering during winter, liking drained soils and drying out a little in summer. Cut back fairly hard early summer to around 2/3 to half height to keep compact. Looks terrific in mass plantings like all the wallflowers.
Itoh type paeonia resulting from crossing herbaceous and shrubby species, beautiful foliage and huge ruffled soft lemon flowers like a old fashioned rose. Need good drainage and fertile soil, long lived plant.
A nice addition to the summer flowering pallette, this persicaria has a softer colour than 'Taurus' with similar good qualities of long flowering and good foliage and infill. Best on heavier fertile soils.
Paniculata type with white flowers and pink eye, fragrant and grows well with plenty of summer water and nutrients. Not for low maintenance gardens!
Attractive mauve colour distinct from the usual pinks and blues, cultivation as per other nemorosa varieties, will repeat flower on good soil if trimmed hard after first flowering.
