A lovely variation on 'Bicolor' with copper two tone flowers for much of winter. Perennial wallflowers require good drainage and dont like it too wet.
Temperate bromeliad from Chile for sunny well drained position, also good in pots. The grey green rosette transforms to brilliant red when the wonderful azure flower appears. Likes winter wet and summer dry in our climate. Avoid clay.

Evergreen Iris from Burma, China and Japan. An attractive species with fans of leaves and light blue flowers in early summer. I find the foliage effect of this plant very useful when combined with grasses, sedums and euphorbias. Interesting large seed heads.
