Narcissus 'Thalia'
A beautiful medium height triandrus cultivar with white flowers in spring, one of our favourite narcissus.
Origanum 'Hopeleys'
Ornamental origanum with purple flowers, most valued for floral work, and its long flowering period in the summer border. Mild flavour, can also be used in various lamb and poultry dishes.
Origanum vulgare ssp hirtum
Otherwise known as Greek oregano; a long flowering border perennial and a good crossover plant between ornamental and culinary usage. White flowers in summer.
Paeonia 'Coral Charm'
Stunning double flowered paeonia requiring rich well drained soil in full sun, young plants often takes a year or two to establish but eventually form large clumps; we recommend removing first flowers to hasten establishment.
Paeonia tenuifolia
A wild Paeonia from the Caucasus from Ukraine to Romania with deep tomato red flowers and finely dissected foliage. This is a dwarf species which prefers fertile but drained conditions, and needs to dry off in summer after the growing period. A rare treasure.
Panicum virgatum 'Rubrum'
Upright grass colouring well in autumn. Favoured by contemporary designers for winter colour and structure.
Papaver 'Brilliant'
The orange oriental perennial poppy, originally from Turkey. The blooms are impressive, and in good conditions the plant will make a large perennial clump in only a few years. Remove the first flower and avoid acid soils.
Papaver 'Choir Boy'
Papaver Choir Boy produces beautiful white poppies with black central blotches, grow in fertile moisture retentive clay based soil and allow to dry out over late summer. Not for pots.
Papaver 'Julianne'
Very pale turkish delight pink with no spots, never many spare of these but occasionally a few divisions available in winter through to spring.
Papaver orientale 'Beauty of Livermere'
The best red cultivar with a hint of black spotting in the centre of the flower. Tall erect flower stems. Avoid growing oriental poppies in pots, plant in ground directly.
Papaver orientale 'Curly Locks'
This variety has huge, fringed orange-red blooms, which rival paeonies for show and splendour! Only a few, available July onwards.
Papaver orientale 'Koenigin Alexandra'
Large salmon-pink flowers with blackish-purple spotting. A vigorous free flowering variety which complements roses and paeonies.
Persicaria 'Orangefield'
A nice addition to the summer flowering pallette, this persicaria has a softer colour than 'Taurus' with similar good qualities of long flowering and good foliage and infill. Best on heavier fertile soils.
Phlox paniculata 'Kirmeslander'
Paniculata type with white flowers and pink eye, fragrant and grows well with plenty of summer water and nutrients. Not for low maintenance gardens!
Poa gunnii
Alpine tussock found in Tasmanian alpine areas. It does surprisingly well in most garden conditions providing it is well drained.
Rudbeckia 'Green Wizard'
This rudbeckia flower has a developed conical centre, and minimal petals. Use it for textural effect with eryngiums, grasses and sanguisorbas.
Salvia nemorosa 'Amethyst'
Attractive mauve colour distinct from the usual pinks and blues, cultivation as per other nemorosa varieties, will repeat flower on good soil if trimmed hard after first flowering.
Scabiosa caucasica 'Alba'
This is the rarely offered white form, lovely cut flower and cottage garden perennial. To grow effectively, avoid winter wet as much as possible and grow in a raised bed or well drained soil.
Scabiosa ochroleuca
Attractive low growing variety that enjoys a meadow style planting amongst grasses and perennials. Dozens of creamy primrose flowers over a long period and reliably perennial.
