Attractive shrub with pepper flavoured berries and leaves . Also a superb container specimen for part shade. Large plants.
Tall, sun loving perennial for the herbaceous border and cottage garden, providing lasting structure and a long show of golden ochre flowers. Plant with heleniums, day lilies, iris and salvias.
One of the earliest fruiting varieties, with tall vigorous growth habit to 2.1m. Once established, prune out central canes to keep bush open. As with most blueberries, fruit production is improved by planting other varieties nearby. Sweet fruit which stores and freezes well, perfect for jams, pies, or just eaten fresh.
A dense growing multi stemmed variety prized for topiary and hedging, featured at Sissinghurst Castle. Bright blue flowers.
Lovely variety with flower spikes in peach and apricot tones, like the colours of old fashioned roses. Clumping habit and long flowering.
Low growing mounding variety with finely dissected silver foliage for perennial border or amongst roses. Herbaceous habit makes it compatible with bulbs and other low growing perennials.
The original european wild strawberry, excellent as ground cover in shade or part sun. Small sweetly flavoured fruit and white flowers.

Close relative of Echinacea angustifolia, also used in herbal medicine, sharing many similarities. I find it a better garden plant, more vigorous and productive in growth, and manages better in winter wet.
Perennial Chamomile, an indispensable herb for soothing teas and a gentle disinfectant for cuts and eye inflammations. Plant closely with thymes for a Chamomile lawn or just grow a few clumps in the herb garden. Distinct from German Chamomile which is the annual variety best grown from seed.
Lavandula officianalis. Like 'Hidecote' but a more intense darker purple colour with shorter blunter flower spikes.
Strong landscaping variety with bushy growth ideal for mass planting or hedges. Blue flowers in summer and drought tolerant once established.
Compact broad bush to 1.5m, vigorous and abundant fruiting. Fruit can become very plump and juicy when ripe, which is ideal for home consumption where the fruit is used fresh, but not so suitable for commercial packaging and storage. As with other varieties, acid well drained soil with plenty of mulch and summer moisture.
A worthwhile silver foliage variety, named after the Welsh castle and gardens. Will grow in low fertility soil, and makes an effective ground cover when combined with cistus, lavender, and rosmary.
Parma type with sweet fragrance, soft lavender lilac double flowers, perfectly placed near a doorway or garden pathway where its subtle perfume can be appreciated.
