Primula vulgaris. Similar medicinal value to the cowslip, the root being dried and used in early medicine to manage gout and arthritis.

Tangy lemon flavour and fragrance, add to stuffing, stew, and marinades. Also useful as ground cover in cottage garden or border plantings.
Prostrate pink thyme only 1 cm high; plant as lawn or amongst stones, gravel or pavers for ground cover.

A worthwhile silver foliage variety, named after the Welsh castle and gardens. Will grow in low fertility soil, and makes an effective ground cover when combined with cistus, lavender, and rosmary.
Perennial Chamomile, an indispensable herb for soothing teas and a gentle disinfectant for cuts and eye inflammations. Plant closely with thymes for a Chamomile lawn or just grow a few clumps in the herb garden. Distinct from German Chamomile which is the annual variety best grown from seed.
