My favourite new salvia for border, rose-garden or mass planting. White flowers enveloped by a royal purple calyx on a vigourous plant that"s not too big, but not too small. Grows well in large containers providing you remember to water.
Warm climate blueberry, requiring less winter chill than others, however needs pollinator for best fruiting yeild
An attractive foliage contrast to plant with hostas and woodland plants in moist shade or part sun around water features. These flower well in summer, and look great with Ligularia, Thalictrum and Filipendula as a backdrop. Rose pink flowers.
A bushy low growing variety with good blue flowers, ideally planted as path edgings or massed beneath roses or in grouped foreground plantings amongst other perennials. Repeat flowers well, so chop hard after first flowering to freshen up and will repeat flower 4 weeks later.
One of the best deciduous geraniums with rich purple violet flowers and large palmate foliage, very long lived and forms a good sized 60cm across clump. Loves fertility and prefers heavier soil type, not in pots. Flowers in summer, after the early season geraniums.
Lower growing useful mid season summer flowering allium producing bunches of rich pink flowers; forms bushy clumps and flowers after the tall rosenbachianum types, prolonging the flow of alliums during the season. As with other alliums, full sun, and drained soil is ideal, suit mediterranean dry summer climate and dont require watering if planted in...
Old fashioned "catmint", mostly used as a border or edging in cottage gardens. Soft blue flowers, trim lightly in mid summer for a repeat flower in autumn.
Low mounding perennial for foreground colour, useful ground cover when mass planted at 25cm spacings under roses and along pathways. White form with pink eye, long flowering. Combine with dianthus helianthemum and miniature bulbs.
A good salvia for open positions where it gets plenty of sun. Long flowering from mid summer onwards with literally hundreds of light blue flowers. Trim back annually like a lavender for best long term results.
Native grass found mostly around coastal areas in Tasmania and Victoria, this is our local form from the southern Channel area. It forms a lovely tussock in the garden and is less prone to die-back than some of the poa species.
Very pretty pale pink variety, mounding habit a bit over knee high for sunny position on drained soil. Trim after flowering to keep compact.60
A beautiful new variety from our trial beds; flowers open white with a blush of pink on the underside, good stem length and vigour compared to other varieties. Grow in a cool damp spot on rich soil, winter deciduous as per other astrantia. Pinch out first flower to help roots develop.
A good plant for medium to heavy soils, flowering in summer with sedums, echinacea, rudbeckia and heleniums; fills nicely in the perennial border and amongst ornamental grasses
Semi double almost black from our own breeding, vigorous and strong grower compared to others. Gravelly soil and full sun with some lime.
An attractive variety with tangerine to red single flowers, we love these for summer colour with rudbeckia, sedums and echinacea.
The best white persicaria we have tried, as with Taurus and others, these will flower in summer but good much and soil fertility will ensure their best performance. Waist high or fraction higher in moister conditions, basal foliage with drifts of vertical white spikes. We like to plant these in clumped groups of 5 or 9 at 25cm spacings for best effect.
