Dome-forming clumper for the rockgarden or border, flowering profusely during summer with mounds of purple bells. Non-invasive and generally tidy when not in flower. Dislikes acid soil.
Much improved form of the regular white Siberean iris, with larger flowers and a stronger growth habit. Likes moist fertile soil, border or pond margin, we imported from the UK in mid 90s.
Perennial wallflower that begins purple and transforms to apricot peachy tones as the flowers age, giving a lovely effect. Winter flowering, bird and butterfly attracting, fragrant.
Sky blue hydrangea, lighter in bud. In neutral or alkaline soil it tends to be light pink. Note all blue hydrangea need acid soil to produce correct colouring; in alkaline soil they will tend toward pink.
Old fashioned "catmint", mostly used as a border or edging in cottage gardens. Soft blue flowers, trim lightly in mid summer for a repeat flower in autumn.

Remarkable shrubby poppy from California for well drained soils and sun, will grow to a large bushy plant a metre across with dozens of white poppy flowers in summer. It requires a decent amount of space where it can sucker up and expand, resents transplantation once established. Very tough and drought hardy once established.
Early summer flowering resembling a blue aster, but flowering for much longer period and all round more contained and well behaved. Likes fertile drained soil
Vigourous form of white wind flower for shade or part sun, this is a variation with slightly narrower multiple layered petals. Drained fertile soils improve flowering performance.
