Buxus sempervirens
Traditional hedging plant which looks good all year round and forms compact tight growth. Ideal for edging pathways, borders and formal plantings.
Phlox subulata 'Amazing Grace'
Low mounding perennial for foreground colour, useful ground cover when mass planted at 25cm spacings under roses and along pathways. White form with pink eye, long flowering. Combine with dianthus helianthemum and miniature bulbs.
Geum rivale 'Lemongold'
Low growing rivale type with a long flowering period, good for path edging or foreground beds, these do best in heavier soils with some fertility, but in good soil are drought hardy and will take some summer heat.
Viola odorata 'Snow White'
White flowered violet suitable for ground cover in shade, spreads well and low maintenance.
Lysimachia cletheroides
A very beautiful plant with unusual white arching flower spikes. The foliage colours well in colder areas; both flowers and foliage are a delight for the flower arranger. Allow some room as plants will clump out substantially in a few years. Sun or dappled shade on moist soil.
Filipendula camtschatica
Lush leafy perennial for fertile clay soils, larger and more bushy in habit than Filipendula rubra with white flowers. Plant with gunnera, Lysimachia cletheroides and Iris siberica around ponds and water features.
Papaver orientale 'Curly Locks'
This variety has huge, fringed orange-red blooms, which rival paeonies for show and splendour! Only a few, available July onwards.
Helichrysum petiolare
Mounding grey foliage plant resembling ballota, useful for larger coastal gardens where it forms an effective ground cover with westringea, correa, prostrate rosmary and native grasses. Can also be grown as a low hedge if planted 80cm apart.
Euphorbia robbiae
Somewhat rampant if treated too well but extremely useful for colonising dry shady areas where not much else will grow. Makes an attractive weed-smothering clump of glossy foliage followed by plentiful lime-green flowers in late winter.

Attractive glossy foliage plant for shade, use as mass plantings for ground cover or grouped as specimens. Likes free draining soil in a cool position, very tough however once established, evergreen. Flowers unexciting, we usually chop off to feature the beautifully attractive leaves which can get to 20cm across.
