Faded lilac purple, like old velvet. Subtle colour lovely in drifts with other varieties for tapestry of colours.
A striking biennial for shade, forming strong mounds of good foliage and normally flowers in second or third year once the plant has acheived maturity, after which it will self seed. This is the rarely offered white form, the common form is pink.
Coral red trumpets with a white throat. Prolific, attractive and long flowering.
A beautiful low compact variety for edging or foreground, virtually evergreen and flowers for a long time. Prefers heavier moisture retentive soil types, and a cooler position is best although will take both full sun or part shade.
Old fashioned cottage garden perennial, robust form with upright flower stems, rich cobalt blue.
Temperate plant for dry shade with attractive silvery felted leaves, and ground covering habit. Best in well drained soil near trees, also a fine container plant.
Bergenia are very tough evergreen perennials useful for ground cover in shade with hellebores, pachysandra, and epimedium. This is a compact variety with soft pink flowers and good foliage colour during winter.
Semi double white flowers with dark cherry centre, cushion forming. Useful frost and drought hardy plant for rock garden or perennial border.
Attractive evergreen ground cover for shade and moist soil, repeat flowers throughout the year.
Attractive alpine from California favouring rock crevices dry sunny conditions. Protect from excessive winter wet, ideal in a drystone wall. Colour range from pink, white to apricot.
Outstanding grey foliage plant for rock garden, border, or mass planting. Contrasts well with colourful foliage like berberis and cotinus, or in combination with Salvia nemorosa varieties. Yellow button flowers through summer, trim off if not your colour scheme!
A Heuchera maxima cultivar with lasting grey green foliage and evergreen habit. Cream flowers and long flowering time, useful to provide winter structure in borders and cottage gardens, also good for florist work.
Spectacular summer flowering salvia for bedding and foreground plantings, frost hardy and perennial. Cut to ground in winter.
