Otherwise known as Greek oregano; a long flowering border perennial and a good crossover plant between ornamental and culinary usage. White flowers in summer.
A wonderful winter foliage plant, most useful as ground cover around trees and deciduous shrubs. Foliage turns a red then dark chocolate providing it gets winter sun. Flowers yellow, introduced by Planthunters.
Our own double purple which we have increased from division. Best in well drained conditions in a pot or the rock garden.
A recent release from our trial beds, begins as brighter musk pink then fades to soft pink then eventually cream, subtle and lovely and multicoloured tones as the flowers age. Easily cultivated like other yarrows in full sun.

Decorative grass with fluffy 'cats tail' seed heads. Does not seed in our summer dry temperate climates, but can be a strong seeder in warmer humid climates if seed heads not trimmed before dispersal.
A beautiful low compact variety for edging or foreground, virtually evergreen and flowers for a long time. Prefers heavier moisture retentive soil types, and a cooler position is best although will take both full sun or part shade.
Bold foliage plant for moist areas with exotic foliage, native to Myanmar and Tibet. Extremely cold hardy, best grown along with other moisture loving plants on a pond margin or in part shade woodland environment. Associates well with filipendulas, astilbes, gunneras and primulas.
Reputedly more blue than others, we find these echinops, contrary to their appearance, are best situated in a cooler position with only part day sun. To yield their best, plant in fertile drained soil and a sheltered position.
The beautiful 'snakes head' Fritillaria. Easy to grow but requires drainage, moderate fertility with organic matter content in the soil and a cool position. Best in part shade in the rockgarden, or in a large pot or raised bed. Colour can vary from pink to purple, rarely but occasionally white.
