Tall variety. Flowers begin very soft primrose then fade to white; the range of tonal shades within yarrow flowers is endless.
Old fashioned variety from Dennis Norgate with double red fragrant flowers, strong bushy grower with long enough stems to pick, without being fragile like many of the modern carnation varieties.
Spectacular tall salvia from Mexico, with long canes topped with coral pink flowers in late summer. I particularly like the large, tropical-looking felted leaves.
We introduced this in 1996 from the UK, a lovely deep rich pink colour with single flowers on tall stems.
Otherwise known as Greek oregano; a long flowering border perennial and a good crossover plant between ornamental and culinary usage. White flowers in summer.
White outward-facing bell flowers clustered on tall stems over a rosette of bright green foliage make this a very attractive garden plant. A suitable ground-cover for colonising difficult areas, particularly in the wild garden where it can be left to ramble freely.
Slender upright green, lemon and cream coloured poker , flowers fading to a softer colour as they age. Superb cut flower & accent plant amongst grasses and perennials.
Double flowers with ruffled petals, rich pink colour and easily grown like other varieties.
One of the first perennials my mother gave me, a delightful old fashioned ground cover for under roses, where it will remain well behaved forever, or until overgrown by an invasive neighbour. Easily revived and transplanted however, and not to be confused with 'Claridge Druce' or other inferior Geranium oxonianum hybrids.
A branching form of Russells lupin with white and cream flowers. Provide good drainage and dry off in summer, looks wonderful with white roses.
Wonderfully exotic looking temperate plant from the Chatham Islands with large glossy leaves and blue flowers. Easily grown in woodland settings but needs good drainage.
Rich purple blue colour and lower growing than other varieties, providing contrast and height variation when combined with 'Carodonna' and 'Lye End'. Frost resistant and winter deciduous.
A brilliant low grass with outstanding flowers and seedheads, suitable for massed foreground plantings in landscape design work or in clusters amongst other perennials. A slender plant so plant closely at 25cm for best results. Not self seeding in our trial stockbeds.
Pink form of Astrantia major: a good companion for hostas and dicentras in woodland.
