Beautiful grey foliage variety with musk pink flowers in early summer. Trim as lavenders and salvia.
A bushy form of Russells lupin with deep pink flowers, ideal between roses and in the perennial border. Pinch out first flower to develop multistemmed form.
Old fashioned cottage garden perennial, robust form with upright flower stems, rich cobalt blue.
Old variety from Ken Gillanders collection; lovely ground covering habit and long flowering. I love finding new Helianthemum varieties, and value them greatly in our coastal dry herbaceous border, where they flower over a long period.
Shade loving variety with delicate soft pink flowers in summer. Use as background planting to hostas and hellebores for summer display.
A tall architectural plant useful in dry shade, often found in historic gardens around Tasmania. The foliage is a pleasing dark green and the purple flower spikes are an unexpected bonus when they arrive. Cut back the foliage in late summer to rejuvinate.
A mix of our lupin colour range, from white to reds, pinks, blues and purples.
Leafy plant from saxifragaceae family, useful for ground cover in dry shade where acanthus and euphorbia can take over. Good drainage and neutral to alkaline soils preferred.
A pretty variety we raised a few years ago from experimental crosses, with some creative contributions from our staff for the name. Good clumping habit and a subtle colour.
Delicate soft pink shade of Helianthemum, equally as tough as other varieties. In the seventies these were fashionable, with dozens of named cultivars being available; sadly these wonderful plants have disappeared from mail order catalogues.
Old fashioned cottage plant with intense blue flowers, easily grown but best in clay based soil.
Classic white hellebore for mass planting under trees and shrubs, ensure good soil and plenty of mulch, remove old leaves in summer to promote winter growth.
Soft peach colour fading to pastel, a subtle colour for the cottage garden combining well with astrantia, geraniums and old roses.
Terrific ornamental grass which has not shown any seedling to date, which makes it a very welcome addition as a foliage filler. The foliage is nicely mounding, evergreen and knee high, and the red pompom flower heads have almost the effect of a sanguisorba, later fading to a pleasant straw colour until mid winter providing an effective textural effect....
We have selected this form for its showy larger than usual flowers and longer stem, which suits cutting for floral arrangements. To get the best out of these, plenty of fertility and moisture, shade to part sun.
