Native to Mexico where it is now extinct in the wild. Otherwise known as chocolate cosmos, the flowers have a scent like chocolate. Best in fertile, well drained soil in a perennial border.
Fan iris, attractive foliage for floral work, and feathery white and lilac flowers in spring. Useful under trees and in larger spaces.
Pink form of Veronica longifolia, a good perennial groundcover under roses and amongst other perennials.
Traditional white mop top Hydrangea, flowers do not discolour with pH variation, plants form a good low hedge or border in shady conditions.
One of the first plants I grew from cutting; quick growing and floriferous in a short space of time. In summer it requires complete cutting to the ground like an oriental poppy, and will resprout in autumn when there is sufficient moisture. Easy and quick to fill in spaces; pink flowers.
Tall perennial with deep indigo blue flowers in autumn, loosely resembling a Delphinium in form. Useful because of its tolerance to clay soils and later flowering.

A very popular "Pacific Giant" strain with deep inky blue flowers. Easily grown on good soil in sun.
White flowered delphinium. Classic old-fashioned cottage garden plant and cut flower, plant in a protected spot on well drained fertile soil and these will flower year after year. Squash any nearby snails when the shoots first emerge in spring.
Robust Perennial with lovely golden globes on wiry stems, grow in fertile well drained soil in a sunny cool position. Popular for floral work.
Himalayan species, with attractive pink stems & foliage. The lime green flowers form an interesting contrast.
Deep pink hydrangea, flatter lacecap type like 'Tokyo Delight'; note pink varieties are less affected by soil pH than blue varieties.
