Stachys byzantina 'Lambs Ears'
Old fashioned spreading grey foliage plant for amongst roses and perennials. Easy and dry tolerant.
Geum 'Totally Tangerine'
A softer apricot colour than the regular brighter tangerine variety, flowers for much of the year in fertile heavier soil types.
Veronica 'Purpleicious'
Medium height with stongly vertical stems of rich pink flowers in summer, easy plant for the cottage garden.
Achillea 'Salmon Beauty'
Begins salmon pink then transitions to soft ochre as the flowers age, lovely amongst roses and salvias. Like all yarrows, cut down after flowering to renew.
Dierama floriferum
Native grassland species from Natal, dwarf and florific with violet purple flowers earlier than most other varieties.
Campanula poscharskyana 'Alba'
Rare white form of the usual blue, useful for ground cover in part shade or sun. Vigorous and spreading like the blue form.
Epimedium grandiflorum 'Rubrum'
One of the best Epimedium with pink flowers and decorative red tinged foliage. The new growth is particularly attractive, and the flowers are a pleasant variation from the usual yellows.
Kniphofia 'Poco Orange' dwarf
A terrific low growing variety for foreground plantings, only just over knee high and easier to manage than some of the larger kniphofia. Colourful burnt orange flowers in summer look good with rudbeckia, grasses and sedums.
Stokesia laevis
Select large flowered form of the species, vigorous and long flowering. Medium height bushy plant, earlier than asters but works to same effect amongst other perennials.
Viola odorata 'Snow White'
White flowered violet suitable for ground cover in shade, spreads well and low maintenance.
Salvia 'Hot Lips'
Attractive and eye-catching bi-coloured cultivar with white and red flowers; probably a S. greggii hybrid. Compact and tidy for most of the year.
Alchemilla rothii
Spreading species from Ethiopia, useful for ground-cover in larger gardens. Suckers like a wild strawberry when happy, prefers part shade or clay based moisture-retentive soils.
Phlox paniculata 'Mien Ruys'
Named after the inspiring Dutch landscape architect, a beautiful white form of Phlox paniculata. Cut all paniculata types back to the ground after flowering and they will respond with secondary growth much like oriental poppies.
Hydrangea 'Blauling'
Medium hydrangea with large heads of blue lacecaps. Note all blue hydrangea need acid soil to produce correct colouring; in alkaline soil they will tend toward pink.
Helleborus x ericsmithii
Garden cross between Helleborus sternii and H. niger, these are division grown plants from our collection. Few only.
