Otherwise known as Greek oregano; a long flowering border perennial and a good crossover plant between ornamental and culinary usage. White flowers in summer.
A winter flowering variety with bright flame red inflorescences. The notable feature of this species is the spherical form of the pokers, quite distinct from other varieties.
The lovely white form which flowers earlier than the blue, and is equally easy. I raised our original stock plant from one white seedling which we later divided. Thanks Lindy for recovering this for me when I thought it had been lost forever!
Attractive long flowering ornamental grass which flowers in summer with miscanthus, sedums, agastache, and echinacea. Very easy and well behaved in clay however in light sandy soils may be overly vigorous and only suit the large garden. One of the first plants I grew from cutting; quick growing and floriferous in a short space of time. In summer it requires complete cutting to the ground like an oriental poppy, and will resprout in autumn when there is sufficient moisture. Easy and quick to fill in spaces; pink flowers.
