A useful border allium, flowering in mid summer, producing tall stems topped with spherical heads, about the size of crab apples. These begin green, then as the season progresses, burgundy colouration gradually extends down until the balls are entirely coloured. Best planted closely as a clump for good effect.
Native to the Pyrenees, a good blue variety forming a rounded mound of foliage and flowers in mid-summer. Combines well with Geranium 'Mavis Simpson' and sedums. Ensure planting in ground: not good in pots.
A useful pond side plant or for wet soils, where it will form a dense ground cover. Bright green leaves and red flowers during summer.
Still one of the most graceful cultivars with deep blue flowers edged silver.
A lovely old double pink auricula which we have increased from division. Best in well drained conditions in a pot or the rock garden.

A wonderful variety with large white flowers like Romneya coulteri, unfortunately difficult to propagate so only a few.
Common "meadowsweet", an attractive perennial for damp soil with dozens of medicinal and culinary uses. The white fluffy flowers can be added sparingly to jam and stewed fruit, and can be used to flavour wine, beer and cordials. The root is also used in varied herbal remedies.
Double white form, sweetly fragrant and lovely. Easy and clumping like other forms, best used in shade as ground cover.
One our favourite new grasses, waist high flowers with rich green foliage, creating good mounding fill and texture within summer perennial plantings. Grows best on heavier fertile soils, and responds well to moisture in summer if available, but not overly demanding.
An alternative to 'Walkers Low', when a slightly taller variety is required. Lilac mauve flowers through summer, nepeta will repeat flower if trimmed occasionally.
A mixture from our own collection. Includes doubles and a range of colours. Great plants for the rock-garden or in a large pot. Likes drainage.
