Data sheet
Tall summer flowering perennial sunflower, combine with dahlias, rudbeckias and salvias.
Clumping plant for clay, pond margins or moist soils. Attractive tall pink fluffy flowers, over palmate foliage. Cut back after flowering to the ground and it will resprout when the conditions are right.
Prolific and long flowering variety from Chiapas province Mexico, with glossy elliptical leaves and dozens of magenta pink flowers. A tidy attractive plant that will repeat flower if trimmed occasionally. Best in the cottage garden amongst other perennials or roses.
Spreading succulent from South Africa with attractive blue grey foliage, useful when landscaping dry areas. Avoid winter wet or excessive irrigation.
Classic old-fashioned cottage perennial with red flowers. I like to combine these with Rudbeckia "Goldsturm" for contrast.
Named after the inspiring Dutch landscape architect, a beautiful white form of Phlox paniculata. Cut all paniculata types back to the ground after flowering and they will respond with secondary growth much like oriental poppies.
Huge ornamental rhubarb from Brazil, suited to pond, bog, and streamside plantings. The leaves can be 1.5 - 2.5 m across, on stems up to 2.5 m in sheltered conditions.
Clumping plant liking moister soils in woodland and part shade or morning sun. Attractive whorls or pink flowers amongst good foliage. Likes growing with Siberean iris, ligularia, and astilbe.
Old fashioned perennial flowering in summer, with cobalt blue spikes and ground covering habit. Easy amongst geraniums, Dianthus, and helianthemums.
A terrific Dahlia with massive blooms and a subtle faded soft pink colour like old roses. Only a few in stock.
A beautiful variety for mediterranean themed gardens and one of our favourite matt forming perennials. The silver foliage is evergreen and creates a good low ground cover for edges and foreground plantings. Added to its attractive appearance, easy cultivation and a long flowering period makes it a great plant for Australian gardens.
One of the best achillea for foliage structure, the flowers are at their best pre colouring when the combination of grey flower buds and silvery foliage provide a lovely texture amongst summer perennials.
A dark flowered seedling I selected at Richard Bramleys "Farmyard Nursery" in Wales. An improvement on "Moerheim Beauty", with deep orange red flowers in mid to late summer.
One of the best summer perennials for the border that flowers well into dry summer periods. Deep blue flower spikes contrasting with dark stems. Frost hardy and deciduous, cut back after first flowering for a repeat flowering later in the season. Taller than other forms.
Delightful variety from Wychwood, lovely range of foliage colour including greys, purples and pinks. Distinct from 'Matrona' and 'Purple Emperor', with lower more branched form. Looks good all year both in pots and in the ground. My favourite sedum.
Pink form of Astrantia major: a good companion for hostas and dicentras in woodland.
